Just to let you all know that there will be a knockdown training session held this coming Saturday 7th September by Sensei Shane Mulhall in Swords. This is open to anyone interested in knockdown with a view to those competing at the KWU World Tournament in October or the BKK Open in November.

The morning Session will take place in the park near to Swords Dojo from 11:00 - 13:00 - Click here for a map of the location in the park.

The Afternoon Session will take place in Swords Dojo from 14:00 - 16:00. Click here for the location of Swords Dojo.

Cost is €5:00 please bring shorts, tshirt and trainers for morning session and Gi, Wraps and Pads for the afternoon session.

Please note that the morning session will go ahead regardless of the weather (rain has been forecast)

We would like to wish Senpai Alan McCoy of Mullingar dojo a speedy recovery following a recent injury sustained playing football. Senpai Alan has broken his ankle and will be out out of action for 8-10 weeks while he recovers.

Stick to Knockdown Senpai

Mullingar Dojo held a Junior camp from 19th to 23rd August at Mullingar Parish Centre.  We had 14 participants aged 6 to 12 as well as assistants who helped out. We finished the camp with a Clicker competition where we also had a good turnout of parents and family support for the juniors.  Results:

• 1st Jack Fitzpatrick.
• 2nd Tiarnan Clarke McMahon.
• 3rd Eric Bates.
• 4th Lisa Fitzpatrick

Referees on the day were Alan McCoy, Darren McIntyre and Laquitta Dunne. David Pommer also assisted at the tournament.  The Seniors did a wood-break demo and kata for all.  The week long activities included team-work,agility and fitness drills in the local town park as well as all aspects of Karate.  Everyone had a great week.
