Shane ![]() Osu On Saturday 17th May 2014 we held an open knockdown session in Mullingar Dojo in preparation for the forthcoming BKK Regional tournament in Wales. This was a well attended session. We had people from Red belt to Fourth Dan. We had fighters from Mullingar, Galway, Letterfrack, Swords and Finglas. Sensei Ken took the Morning session and Sensei Shane Mulhall took the afternoon session. After a long and bruising day we finished up sorer but hopefully wiser. The next Knockdown session will be held towards the end of June most likely in the West of Ireland. Osu Osu!

It is in an industrial unit owned by the M.A.I (Muslim Association of Ireland). They have kindly given us permission to set up a dojo on their premises. The dojo has its own entrance at the side of the building and will be fitted out over time with all relevant training equipment such as mats, mirrors and punch bags. As karate is predominately about respect, honour and good will, we must observe the wishes and always show respect to the people kind enough to let us set up a dojo. The dojo is connected to prayer rooms and as with Muslim tradition, foot wear is not permitted in the prayer rooms and certain areas. When mats are down on the floor, The IKK will not permit use of footwear on the matted areas. This dojo is open to everybody who wishes to train under the flag of the IKK (Irish Karate Kyokushinkai). Sensei Jon has set up a facebook account for the dojo and will be updated accordingly. Facebook.com/minamigawa dojo . If you have any queries regarding this dojo please contact Sensei Jon directly.
