The
Irish Karate Kyokushinkai is proud to announce the opening of its latest dojo on the Southside of Dublin. This dojo will be run by Sensei Jon Maher 3rd Dan and will be called the Minamigawa dojo. (min-a-me-gow-a). This is an initial set up and will be adjusted in due course to the benefits and demands of all involved. To start with, training times will be as follows, and starts on the 19th June 2014.

Saturdays:           9am – 10am Juniors (6-12)

10am – 11am Intermediates and adults kihon, kata, (12 years plus)

11am – 12pm students over 16 and adults bag work, cardiovascular, kumite

Additional training times may be added in due course but is subject to availability and permission. This dojo will be a monthly fee paying dojo and standing order payments will be sought. Price to be arranged. Details will be given on open night.

The venue is in Tallaght off the Greenhills Road. It is in an industrial unit owned by the M.A.I (Muslim Association of Ireland). They have kindly given us permission to set up a dojo on their premises. The dojo has its own entrance at the side of the building and will be fitted out over time with all relevant training equipment such as mats, mirrors and punch bags. As karate is predominately about respect, honour and good will, we must observe the wishes and always show respect to the people kind enough to let us set up a dojo. The dojo is connected to prayer rooms and as with Muslim tradition, foot wear is not permitted in the prayer rooms and certain areas. When mats are down on the floor, The IKK will not permit use of footwear on the matted areas.

This dojo is open to everybody who wishes to train under the flag of the IKK (Irish Karate Kyokushinkai).

Sensei Jon has set up a facebook account for the dojo and will be updated accordingly.
