![]() Osu We have arranged a Clicker referee course and exam for Saturday 31st in Mullingar dojo from 13:30 -16:00. This is in preparation for the National Clicker Tournament in Galway in February and the World Junior Tournament in Greece in March. This is open to all Brown and Black belts. In order to be qualified as a mirror or main referee you must be at least 18years of age so only those over 18 will be taking the exam. However I would like all brown and black belts to attend as the knowledge gained will be invaluable and we will need your help on the day of the clicker tournament. If you have already taken the exam you will not need to retake it but you do need to do the course as a refresher at least every two years. Please read the Clicker rules that have been distributed to all clubs. The Course will cost €7.00 and will run from 13:30 to 15:00 and the exam will follow from 15:00 to 15:45. Osu Shane

On behalf of Shihan Kevin and all of the Instructors of the IKK I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the members and their families and peaceful and merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New year. Our thanks to you all for your continued support of our clubs, our fighters and our organisation. 2014 was a very successful year but we will not rest on past successes, rather we will build on them in 2015 and the coming years. Next year looks to be one of the busiest ever on many levels. There are some exciting events on the horizon for our Juniors, Cadets and Seniors alike. We will have more information on these in the new year. Happy Holidays Osu Shane Osu
The IKK held the second of its national gradings for 2014 in Gaelic Street dojo over the weekend of the 12th and 13th December. Over the course of the weekend we had four people attempting 2nd kyu, two people attempting Shodan and two people attempting Nidan. The Friday night was for Dan grade candidates only. The temperature had dropped to -4 so the venue was very cold. With this in mind Shihan Kevin Callan, who was assisted by Sensei Shane Lalor, ensured everyone was suitably warmed up. Most of Friday night was spent on the Physical test along with many technical aspects. On Saturday they were joined by the rest of the grading candidates and approximately 15 others who had come along to train. Everyone was put through their paces with emphasis Kihon in the morning and on Kata and Renraku in the afternoon, finishing with an hour of Kumite. At the end of the day Shihan Kevin was please to announce the promotion to 2nd Kyu of: Cathal Collins Cian MacCoille Marcin Bocenek Emilia Cahill Also promoted were the IKKs newest Senpais: Sebastian Sikora Marek Bezdziecki And our newest Nidans: Bartek Calka Ciaran Stapleton Congratulations to all who were successful.
