The next Junior Clicker training session will be held in Galway Dojo (http://www.kyokushinireland.com/galway.html) on Saturday 31st May 2014 The Training will run from 14.00 to 16.00 and the cost is €7.00. Please bring Pads and Water. Please encourage all Juniors to attend as the Coaches will be using these sessions to determine the team for the Severn Challenge/Cup of Europe in October and also for the World tournament in Israel in 2015. We have a busy day this coming Saturday 12/10/2013. In Galway dojo there is a knockdown training session open to all from 10.00 - 13.00 - Please bring pads, notebook and water being run by Sensei Shane (Lalor). In Mullingar Dojo the Juniors will be training Clicker from 13.00 - 15.00.being run by Sensei Steve and Sensei Jon. Also in Mullingar there will be the first of our new Kata training from 15.00 - 16.00 being run by Sensei Jon. Shane  Mullingar Dojo held a Junior camp from 19th to 23rd August at Mullingar Parish Centre. We had 14 participants aged 6 to 12 as well as assistants who helped out. We finished the camp with a Clicker competition where we also had a good turnout of parents and family support for the juniors. Results:
Referees on the day were Alan McCoy, Darren McIntyre and Laquitta Dunne. David Pommer also assisted at the tournament. The Seniors did a wood-break demo and kata for all. The week long activities included team-work,agility and fitness drills in the local town park as well as all aspects of Karate. Everyone had a great week. Thanks. Ken. After many squad sessions the coaches have picked their team for the forthcoming Severn Challenge in the UK. The Severn Challenge started life many years ago as a competition between England and Wales and has grown to include Switzerland, Ireland, Holland and Norway. The Irish team has been out of the competition for a couple of years now but are looking forward to the event in October. The team is as follows:
Mullingar dojo will run two Camps this Summer. The first camp will be a Teenage camp (13 - U18years). This will be a three day camp (7-9th August). The cost of this camp is €35 per student.
The second camp (6-12 years) will be a week long camp from Monday 19th - Friday 23rd August. The cost of this camp is €60 per child. Two children from same family is €110 and three children €150. Mullingar have been running the U12 years Camp since 2004. The teenage camp is a new idea this year. Both Camps run from 9.30am-12.30pm each day at the Parish Centre (see Mullingar Dojo page for location). Please bring a small snack and drink (non-fizzy) for a short break. All Karate topics will be covered as well as team-work, agility and fun activities. On the last day of Camp there will be demonstrations and a Clicker Competition for all and parents and friends are invited to attend (11 am for parents/friends). Anyone training must bring runners/trainers, licence, pads and water. The course is €7:00 and will as usual be taken by the Junior Coach Sensei Stephen Quaille and Sensei Jon Maher Sensei Steve will be picking his squad for the Severn Challenge on October 19th 2013 at this course. For those dojos that close for July or August please ensure that you have contact details for any Juniors that will be attending. Sensei Steve has also asked that any experienced clicker fighters who may have been on squads in the past to come along.
