IKK Knockdown Fighters Osu
On Saturday 19th July 2014 the IKK held its latest knockdown squad training for its fighters. We had a mix of cadets, novices and experienced campaigners.
The sessions were run by the knockdown coach Sensei Shane Mulhal who was assisted on the day by Sensei Shane Lalor. We had fighters from Westport, Galway, Letterfrack, Finglas, Mullingar, Killester and Swords.
The morning session started with a comprehensive warm up and was followed by 75 minutes of sparring. We then had a break for lunch. During the second session we had a more technical focus. Areas covered included footwork, conditioning and block and counter drills.
Many thanks to Westport dojo for hosting this session. The next Knockdown session is scheduled for August 9th in Galway Dojo from 11.00 - 13.00 and then again from 14.00 - 16.00. Cost €10.
